At VAM Studios, on Saturday, October 17th, there will be an official Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting for the incredible arrival of the Red Curtain Dance Boutique! A shop for anyone looking to find the items they need for dancing, or just adding a flair to daily life.
The Grand Opening will be held live at VAM, across the street from the Fremont Library, as well as on YouTube Live at 10a Pacific Standard Time. See the Ribbon Cutting, hear interviews with featured designers and learn more about this triumphant arrival for dancers all over Seattle, and particularly those in Fremont.
Fremont had one of the very last dance boutiques to be located inside the City of Seattle, which closed in the 1990s. Most dancers have been forced to either shop on-line or travel outside the city for their shoes, dancewear, and accessories. Now, Fremont once again will be able to provide the means for movement art – located in front of the VAM Studios Dance School.
“It feels like a place you want to buy clothing,” explained Store Manager Mellanie Stephenson, “it’s not just a supply store – you look forward to the experience.” The Red Curtain Boutique, crafted with a vintage, backstage atmosphere, will feature local brands and dancers-turned-designers. Those who want to visit the Red Curtain Boutique, starting on Saturday, October 17th, three people will be allowed in the shop at a time but there will be considerations made for those who wait in line… including the possibility of dance step instruction and inspiration!
