Upcoming LUDC Meeting Features Presentations On Potential Transportation Projects

On Monday, January 7th, the next Lake Union District Council (LUDC) meeting will be held at 5p at History House.  The agenda begins with a presentation by Betsy Davis, Executive Director of the Center for Wooden Boats, on the current projects by this iconic Lake Union organization.

However, more than half the meeting will be given to hearing presentations on applications to the 2013 Neighborhood Streets Fund.  This fund provides opportunities for citizens and community groups to propose needed roadway improvements for their neighborhoods.  Within the Lake Union District, six proposals have been submitted to the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) – and members of the LUDC must evaluate and recommend three of them back to SDOT.

Five minute presentations will be given on:

  • Woodland Park Ave Greenway, by Toby Thaler and/or Christian Silk
  • United Wallingford, by Cathy Tuttle and/or Cameron Miller
  • Stone Way, N Northlake Way, Waterway 22 Ped Walkway, by Mark Christiansen and/or Robert Vets
  • Phinney Ave N street calming, by Ryan Thurston and/or Liz Koser
  • Pedestrian crosswalk – MOAHI & Lake Union access off Westlake, by Michael Giles and/or Wei Chang
  • Green Lake way planted medians, by Greg Hill and/or Susan Potemkin

LUDC members will conduct e-mail balloting after the meeting to determine which projects will move on for further cost and feasibility analysis by SDOT.

The meeting will conclude with reports from chairpersons, reports from member organizations, and a staff report.  For more information, contact LUDC staff person Rob Mattson at 206/684-4051 or rob.mattson@seattle.gov
