The Fremont Arts Council (FAC) is gearing up for its annual Luminata Lantern Walk at Green Lake on September 21st. Celebrate the Autumnal Equinox with a procession of light, and by attending one of the upcoming lantern making workshops – at the FAC Powerhouse.
A significant part of this family-friendly celebration is the hand-made lanterns. Volunteers build lanterns to be sold to raise money to support FAC programs, including the Fremont Solstice Parade, and during these building sessions the public can learn how to make a lantern or two for themselves!
Schedule to attend one of the workshops, at the Powerhouse, and learn about making lanterns on:
- Wednesday, August 30th from 6p – 9p
- Thursday, August 31st from 6p – 9p
- Thursday, September 7th from 6p – 9p
- Friday, September 8th from 6p – 9p
- Saturday, September 9th from 1p – 5p
- Wednesday, September 13th from 6p – 9p
- Thursday, September 14th from 6p – 9p
- Friday, September 15th from 6p – 9p
- Saturday, September 16th from 1p – 5p
- Monday, September 18th from 5p – 9p
Also, the FAC needs supplies for lantern making. Can you donate patterned tissue paper, transparent or translucent handmade paper, decorative garden sticks, and/or thin gnarly branches?
