On Friday, June 18th, from 5p – 8p, Vif Wine|Coffee is going to be celebrating their annual Summer Solstice with a party in the spacious ‘picnic’ lot.
As a benefit for the Black Farmer’s Collective, Vif is offering up a Tamale Plate for $20 (with 10% of sales plus at-will donations going to the non-profit.) The Tamale Plate must be pre-ordered (click here,) to guarantee everyone has enough – but the creative and talented chefs at Vif will also have plenty of sides, including Rancho Gordo beans and a summery slaw. The tamales are ancho-braised pork, with a tomatillo verde salsa (a vegetarian option is available, at pre-ordering.)
While feasting on the tamales, and enjoying the natural rosé wines they will be pouring, you will also be able to meet the makers of the heirloom corn Milpa Masa & Tortillas, out of West Seattle. You can also purchase some of the Milpa Masa tortillas while attending the Vif solstice picnic.
Of course, as purveyors of natural wines, Vif will have available plenty of fine, cold rosé and white & orange wines, agua fresca and dessert-y things for purchase. Take a seat at one of the many picnic tables set up in front of Vif, in Upper Fremont at 4401 Fremont Ave N, and join in this kick-off of the onset of summer!
