Participate In The Exciting Volunteer Program At Woodland Park Zoo

The Woodland Park Zoo is recruiting volunteers, aged 16 and older, to help save wildlife and to inspire others to make conservation a priority.  Love animals? Want to make a positive impact on the planet?  Volunteers at the Zoo advance the mission of the WPZ.

WPZ volunteers are ambassadors and an important part of the Zoo team.  Volunteers engage with Zoo guests, facilitate extraordinary Zoo experiences, and help out with special events.  Once in the program, volunteers can apply for positions in animal care, horticulture, education and leadership roles.

Interested volunteers must be at least 16 years old, and attend a Volunteer Program Information session before submitting an application.  Applications are only available by attending an info session, which give information on commitments, scheduling and training requirements.  Upcoming information sessions are:

  • Wednesday, Jan 8th from 1:30p – 3p
  • Saturday, Jan 11th from 10:30p – Noon
  • Saturday, Feb 8th from 10:30a – Noon

Information sessions take place in the PACCAR Auditorium of the WPZ Education Session, just inside the South Entrance.  No RSVP is necessary, nor is paid entry.  At the Zoo entrance, simply tell a staff member that you are attending the volunteer information session.  For specific questions about volunteering, or the information sessions, contact the Volunteer Program staff at 206-548-2450 or volunteer@zoo.org
