On Saturday, November 10th, at 2p, History House will unveil the results of an extensive history project entitled, ‘Fremont: Timber to Troll.’ The presentation is scheduled to include exhibits created by area students on ‘What Fremont means to me,’ local art, a historic timeline, and a DVD of the oral history interviews conducted in August and September with a large number of Fremont folk.
Volunteers are anxiously sought to help with organizing and assisting with the presentation, leading up to and during the November 10th event.
This project, made possible by a City of Seattle Department of Neighborhoods Matching Fund grant, has already involved dozens of volunteers along with donations of time, energy and materials. Students have created photos, essays, and/or art projects on the impact and impressions made on them by the Center of the Universe. Students and professional researchers have investigated the history of the Fremont community to find many previously unknown facts about the area.
To help make this project, and the November 10th presentation, a guaranteed success, please consider volunteering. Contact John Nordstrand, Operations Manager of History House of Greater Seattle, at 206/675-8875 or john@historyhouse.org to find out how you can help with this presentation.
Oh, and I hope to see you at History House at 2p on November 10th!
