Volunteers Needed To Serve on Seattle Utilities Customer Review Panel

Community members are being asked to consider open positions on the Seattle Public Utilities Customer Review Panel (CRP,) and applications are due by April 5th, although anyone interested is asked to submit materials by March 22nd.

CRP members advise the leadership at Seattle Utilities on their recommendations to the Mayor and City Council.  The CRP considers strategic plans and rates, as well as drinking water, solid waste, and sewer services.  CRP members also aid SPU in upholding commitments to City Values (click here to read more,) including racial and social justice.

Members of the CRP serve three-year terms, and the commitment includes attending quarterly meetings and giving approximately five to six hours per month to CRP business.

Applicants are asked to:

  • have a focus on clean water and zero waste priorities
  • represent neighborhoods that experienced significant displacement and discriminatory policies or practices
  • be those with lived experience being targeted by racially discriminatory policies and practices
  • have connections to and love for Seattle communities

Anyone willing to serve, and help Seattle Public Utilities better provide for our community, is asked to fill out an on-line application (click here.)  Those interested can also e-mail to Catherine.morrison@seattle.gov or leave a message at 206/735-5629, and give details about why they are interested.
