Every year, Fremocentrist.com organizes a community vote to find who we think best characterizes the values and ideals of our funky and fabulous neighborhood at the Center of the Universe.
Past winners for Best Business include: Brown Paper Tickets, Café Turko, Theo Chocolate, Kaosamai Thai Restaurant & Catering, PCC Fremont and Bar House.
Past Winners for Non-Profit include: B.F. Day Playground Improvement Project, Fremont Arts Council’s Solstice Parade, History House of Greater Seattle, and the Lenin Statue by Emil Venkov.
Past winners for Best Citizen include: Charles Hadrann (of Wright Bros. Cycle Works,) Rodman Miller (of the Rodman Gilder Miller Studio,) Darcy Stone (of the Seattle Public Library Fremont Branch,) Mitzi Simons, the Lake Union Houseboat Residents, and Elyse Kaiser.
While past winners are ineligible for five years, there still remain a great number of wonderful folks worthy of this great honor. Some vote getters so far are:
