The Fremont First Friday Art Walk is not officially happening this Friday, January 2nd, from 6p – 9p, or at least many of the venues will not be participating. Portage Bay Goods will not be featuring a new artist, but they will have works by past display artists Justin Hillgrove, Frida Clements and Kyler Martz.
Yet, two venues will be holding their own Art Walk. Visit:
- Pel’meni Dumpling Tzar – on display will be Seattle artist Amy Stone, with her bold, pastel images of female face and form. The vibrant color Stone uses draws you in and elicits emotion, playing on the ideas of mystery and imperfection. Drawing with a loose hand, Stone creates pieces of fun. Meet Stone, and enjoy some adult beverages, plus taste some dumplings by using the phrase ‘Make Art, Not War’ to get $1 off your order.
- Frame-Up Studios – another local artist, Jeff Farnam, will display new abstract paintings that captivate the viewer. The show, ‘Fifteen’, will feature works by this promising artist – another in a long line of those displayed and supported by this iconic Fremont business.
For the second day of the New Year, walk Fremont for the art and the love of it! Check out all the venues of the Fremont First Friday Art Walk, and support the art in Fremont!
