Wallingford Community Seniors Offer On-Line Classes For Our Elders

The Wallingford Community Senior Center remains closed to protect our elders from contracting COVID-19, however the staff are still at work, actively reaching out to seniors staying-at-home to offer classes and other activities that keep them engaged and informed.

The Wallingford Senior Center has a series of Zoom classes, every week, that seniors can attend, for free, just by pre-registering on the corresponding links:

  • Let’s Do Art Together on Tuesdays at 11a – With Mitzi and Ashley, do your own art at home while chatting and showing off your work a bit too! Any art or craft project welcome, or just doodle! (click here to register)
  • Support Group on Wednesdays at 11a – This safe space is created for connecting with the WCSC community and chatting about current concerns, facilitated by Social Worker Denise Malm MSW. How is Phase 2 for you?  Does it feel better or worse?  Get support and share your experiences on Wednesdays. (click here to register)
  • Yoga with Jen on Thursdays at Noon – This is a gentle, nourishing, and accessible yoga class. (register by e-mail at mailto:register@wallingfordseniors.org)
  • Foliage Fridays with Ashley at 11a – This is a casual plant talk with the Executive Director of WCSC, about houseplants, propagation and more! Show off your plants, or just join in on this casual chat.  No particular passion for plants required!  (click here to register)

  • Creative Writing Group on Wednesday, July 15th & July 29th at 3:30p to 4:30p – Led by Marilyn Michael, enter this warm and constructive environment where you can embrace the strength of your story. Get support for your blog post, memoir, freelance writing, novel or other.  Brainstorm new ideas, and find support and feedback from other writers.  (click here to register)
  • Death Café on Wednesday, July 15th at 6:30p – 8p – Join Mitzi Weiland LMFTA, CT, for this discussion of all aspects of death and dying. There is no agenda.  The conversations are always unique and thought-provoking.  New members are always welcome.  (click here to register)
