The Wallingford Community Senior Center has welcomed a new Executive Director to lead the non-profit organization as it assists members with connecting to services and community. The WCSC is currently providing all of its programs and resources by phone and the internet, for the safety of our seniors and the WCSC staff, but it to be hoped that the new ED, Janet Nazy, can help bridge the organization back to live, in-person activities as we, someday, reach a post-pandemic world.
Nazy came to Wallingford with a career in non-profit work, including Development Director and Executive Director for the Sierra Club. She has degrees in Technical Communications/Journalism and Teaching. She also has experience working at Ernst Hardware, Pay & Save, and BnGenius.
Personally, Nazy was born in Illinois but she lived in West Virginia, Minnesota, and Montana, before friends drew her to Washington State. She still loves to travel, as well as reading, gardening, playing tennis and watching the Seattle Seahawks in her spare time. She shares her home with two full-time canine companions – Riley (a springer spaniel,) and Sophie (a Chihuahua mix) – along with occasional foster springers from the English Spring Rescue America.
Nazy is very excited to be joining the Wallingford Community Senior Center, and meeting everyone! Since 1979, the WCSC has been a hub for community members to connect, collaborate, and engage together. Under Nazy’s leadership, this vibrant organization can continue to foster healthy, secure and positive aging for our elder.
