The West of Lenin black box theater has become a site for streaming live and recorded virtual shows to entertain and educate audiences.

On Friday, March 5th, at 8p, the Macha Theatre Works will live-stream another in its ’17 Minute Stories’ series, with tickets on sale now.  On March 5th, enjoy the ‘357 Days’ by Nava Ruthfield, a new work written by and about a teenager affected by the COVID pandemic.

‘357 Days’ follows the theme of the ’17 Minute Stories’ as it asks the question, “How did I get here?”  The series is intended as an exploration of the complexities of human existence.  The ’17 Minute Stories’ are unique, personal narratives that further our understanding of each other, ourselves, and the societies we create.

In ‘357 Days’, Nava’s story tells about how her theater, school and Jewish community faded away when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and about the impacts this shift in her life, and that of everyone around her, has affected her.  Live captioning will be available for this performance.

Tickets are available, costing $7 to $37, for watching the live-stream of ‘357 Days’, on the Macha website (click here.)  There are also options for purchase of the first 5 shows as digital downloads and unlimited access for one year.

Macha Theatre has two more shows upcoming:

  • March 19th – ‘The Ties of Ropa’ by Kerry Jacinto
  • April 2nd – ‘The Volcano’ by Joy McCullough
