Readers of Fremocentrist.com, and Fremonsters from all over, voted at the end of 2019 for their choices of the Best of Fremont. The winners have all been awarded their honors, and everyone can now join in the accolades, and thanks, to these special neighbors.
In the category of Best Business, Fremont Health Club won for their excellent business practices as well as their involvement in our community.
For Best Non-Profit, readers gave B.F. Day Elementary School the honors, for the second time. Seven years ago, readers voted for the B.F. Day Playground Project, and the PTSA organizing it.
As to Best Citizen, we were able to recognize one of the neighborhoods’ long-time volunteers, an involved ‘employee,’ as well as a Fremont customer, participant, and instigator. Carrie Bauer is Office Manager at B.F. Day (and the kids enjoyed acknowledging her win!) She’s built a rain garden on the B.F. Day grounds, helped the neighborhood and the school stay connected, and worked to educate the kids (and the neighborhood) on bio-filtration projects happening under the Aurora Bridge.
Fremocentrist.com is grateful to our readers for voting, and to the winners for their amazing contributions to building our community!
As to community contributors, Mike Kelly of ASKO Processing was also honored, on February 5th, by the North Aurora Boy Scouts of America. Each year the Boy Scouts choose a business person in our region who exemplifies the patriotic, hard-working and community service values that the Scouts try to teach their boys. A major employer in Fremont, Kelly has demonstrated a preference for hiring those who share those values.
Congratulations! To all our honorees!
And THANK YOU for all your great contributions to our community.
