Yesterday, September 28th, the Office of Mayor Mike McGinn proposed legislation naming the one-block of North 34th Street, between Fremont Avenue and Troll Avenue, as J.P. Patches Place.
Read a piece on the Mayor’s blog about this momentous occasion, supported by the Fremont Chamber of Commerce and property owners surrounding the entirely commercial area. The designation will be considered honorary, and does not require any businesses located on this block to change their address.
Several steps remain before signs officially mark this portion of Fremont in honor of Seattle’s favorite clown, but this step by McGinn takes the process much further along!
