A plan, previously posted on Fremocentrist.com, for a temporary closure of 100-feet of the Burke-Gilman Trail under the Aurora Bridge has been postponed – and potentially cancelled. Read the original notice, from July 4th.
On Friday, July 8th, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) issued press releases postponing the closure intended to provide space for machinery and workers doing painting and preservation work on the George Washington Memorial Bridge a.k.a. the Aurora Bridge/SR 99.
WSDOT has postponed the closure to make another plan, involving members of the bicycle community, the City of Seattle, and other stakeholders, to create safe passage for Trail users through the work zone.
