In mid-March, Marit Hanson sent out a letter to supporters of Grassroots Community Acupuncture advising them of significant changes coming to this small, but extremely accessible health resource, in order that everyone may have plenty of notice. On May 1st, Hanson will be having her last day in practice at Grassroots, although the Community Acupuncture practice will continue.
This weekend, March 28th & 29th, in the wee hours (midnight – 7a,) the Fremont Bridge will be closed to all vehicles (cars, trucks and transit) while the construction crew finishes painting the 100-year-old structure. During the closure, two five-minute bridge crossing opportunities will be offered for pedestrians and bicycle riders at 1:20a and 2:20a.
Senior Services is seeking nominations for the 2015 ‘Inspire Positive Aging Award’. Nominations need to be submitted by April 27th, for an award to be given at the Senior Services Annual Meeting on May 20th. Nomination forms can be found on-line at InspireAward.org
On Monday, March 23rd, the Fremont Neighborhood Council (FNC) will hold its monthly meeting. All Fremont residents are welcome to attend and get involved in advocating on our neighborhood issues. FNC meetings are held at Doric Lodge #92 starting at 7p.
On Tuesday, March 24th, the Fremont Chamber of Commerce invites all women to attend a special, social gathering with the HomeStreet Bank ‘experts’, all at Stone Way Café. From 5p – 7p, business women can mix and mingle with experts in banking, finance, marketing and more in a fun, relaxed setting.
