The World Is Fun Hosts A Fremont ‘Know Your Neighborhood’ Event
On Saturday, June 23rd, from 2:30p – 6:30p, the volunteer-matching non-profit, The World Is Fun (TWIF), will be hosting a ‘Know Your Neighborhood’ event at Shawn O’Donnell’s In Fremont.
Kirby has been in Fremont for a lifetime, as a resident, employee, employer, and playmate. She's served on the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, the Fremont Neighborhood Council and the Fremont Arts Council, and can be seen wandering the Center of the Universe year 'round. When it comes to Fremont, she likes to say she's full of it!
On Saturday, June 23rd, from 2:30p – 6:30p, the volunteer-matching non-profit, The World Is Fun (TWIF), will be hosting a ‘Know Your Neighborhood’ event at Shawn O’Donnell’s In Fremont.
On Saturday, June 16th, at 1p, the Fremont Arts Council will present the 30th Annual Fremont Solstice Parade – a cavalcade of creative expression, and volunteer sweat equity. This legendary procession will dance down the streets of Fremont, east from 2nd Ave NW to Gas Works Park, displaying art installations all along the way.
On the morning of Sunday, June 17th, Father’s Day, the Seattle Art Cars will go on the road, allowing people around North Seattle to see these creative vehicles in action.
Over the weekend of June 16th & 17th, celebrate the Summer Solstice in Fremont, at the Street Fair, and in the courtyard of the Fremont Mischief Distillery.
Among the outrageous and awesome installations of art in the Fremont Solstice Parade, look for the VAM Studios School of Dance ensemble, sporting bowler hats and canes, with the dancers painted similarly.
Celebrate Father’s Day, in Solstice-style! This weekend, June 16th & 17th, Fremont will celebrate our community, and culture, with a party that takes over our streets!
The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) has done routine structural analysis and safety assessment of the 68-year-old retaining wall along North Northlake Way, and engineers have established that important steps must be taken to reduce the load on the wall and prevent further deterioration.
This summer, take time to do what you love and enjoy an opportunity to play music at the Dusty Strings Music School. This internationally regarded resource is available right here, with great teachers instructing in all kinds of music to all levels of musicians.
Over the next three months, the Puget Soundkeeper will hold three clean-up events to pick up trash from Seattles waterways. Last year, their volunteers removed more that 1,500 pounds of debris, during land and water-based clean-ups, to protect our urban waters from dangerous pollution.
