Kirby has been in Fremont for a lifetime, as a resident, employee, employer, and playmate. She's served on the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, the Fremont Neighborhood Council and the Fremont Arts Council, and can be seen wandering the Center of the Universe year 'round. When it comes to Fremont, she likes to say she's full of it!

Annual Streetcar Tour of Fremont Sets Off July 22nd

The annual Historic Streetcar Walking Tour of Fremont will take place Thursday, July 25, starting from the corner of North 34th Street & Phinney Avenue North (in front of the Theo Chocolate factory) at 7p.  This free tour, hosted by the Fremont Historical Society, will detail the role played by streetcars in the history and development of Fremont, as well as informing attendees about the streetcar routes that carried travelers through the neighborhood in the early 1900s.

Utility Work Temporarily Detours Burke-Gilman Bike Trail

At a public meeting June 30th, Seattle City Light (SCL) representatives spoke with a few local landowners and property managers on work scheduled to repair the electrical towers on either side of the Lake Union Ship Canal. The North Tower stands just east of the terminus of Phinney Avenue North at North 34th Street, with the South Tower across the canal.

Fremont Rotary Promotes World Harmony

At their June 29th meeting, the Rotary Club of Fremont welcomed representatives from the World Harmony Run. The representatives chose to honor Rotarian Suzie Burke with their coveted Torchbearer’s Award at a Fremont Rotary weekly meeting.
