She's served on the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, the Fremont Neighborhood Council and the Fremont Arts Council, and can be seen wandering the Center of the Universe year 'round. On Monday, January 8th, from 6:30p – 7:45p, the Fremont Branch of the Seattle Public Library will co-host a free, public poetry reading by three of leading, published poets from around our region. The quarterly ‘Evening of Poetry’ offers access to original poetry, read by the authors, presented in partnership with co-host Floating Bridge Press.
On Friday, January 5th, from 6p – 9p, the Fremont First Friday Art Walk takes its monthly stroll around shops, galleries and restaurants at the Center of the Universe. January can be cold and dark, so why not brighten an evening by venturing out for culture and color?
Two weekends of performances remain in which audiences can see an outrageous, original Panto production staged by the Fremont Players, with live music performed by the Fremont Philharmonic, all at Hale’s Palladium.

On January 3rd & 4th, Hana Design will offer two of its regular classes in the beautiful, meditative art of Ikebana. Start your new journey into 2018 with this restful but informative drop-in class, taught by experience instructor Charles Coughlan.
On January 20th, at 2p, we will re-launch the Fremont Fireside Chat series for 2018, now at the Fremont Branch of the Seattle Public Library. This is another opportunity to hear from Suzie Burke, one of Fremont’s most involved land owners, on the history of the industrial areas of our neighborhood.
As it does every year, Seattle Public Utilities will allow customers to compost their natural Christmas tree, wreaths and other greens for free curbside or dropped off at the North Transfer Station (or South,) through January 31st, 2018.
