Kirby has been in Fremont for a lifetime, as a resident, employee, employer, and playmate. She's served on the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, the Fremont Neighborhood Council and the Fremont Arts Council, and can be seen wandering the Center of the Universe year 'round. At Hale’s Palladium, for a limited run, Friday, May 19th & Saturday, May 20th, see the Misfit Cabaret, a live music, magic, variety show, touring here from San Francisco. Starring Kat Robichaud, a finalist on ‘The Voice’, Misfit Cabaret also features a collection of great talents, from magician Paul Nathan to popular acts from Teatro ZinZanni.
Over the next two Sundays, May 14th & 21st, audiences have two remaining opportunities to experience the Moonshine Revival Tent and musical storytelling of the newly created ‘Carny Girl’ and ‘The Trial Of Pastor Goodson’. At 7p at West of Lenin, this original choral theater piece will delight, and possibly disturb, those willing to step inside.
On Sunday, May 14th, at 7p, OtterPup Productions will bring an amazing show, called ‘Middlebrow Madness’, to the Seattle Substation stage. This evening of beautiful, artistic, and passionate burlesque will welcome two visiting performers, and allow audiences another opportunity for exciting entertainment.
This Saturday, on May 13th, from 11a – 1p, the Fremont Historical Society will kick-off celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the opening of the Fremont Cut of the Lake Union Ship Canal, and the Fremont Bridge. Attend the reception to learn more about this important milestone celebration.
In May, Salsa Con Todo is offering another pair of Salsa Boot-Camp weekends. This is the time to learn to Salsa, or step-up your style and technique. In a quick double-feature of weekend of workshops, you can learn to express yourself through dance – or just have a lot of fun!

Next Wednesday, on May 10th, from midnight to midnight, the Seattle Foundation will host its annual Day of Philanthropy, where our on-line donations to area non-profits can be stretched through strategic corporate matches. This year, early-bird pledges can be accepted for GiveBIG in advance of May 10th, with the donation to be processed on that day.
