Kirby has been in Fremont for a lifetime, as a resident, employee, employer, and playmate. She's served on the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, the Fremont Neighborhood Council and the Fremont Arts Council, and can be seen wandering the Center of the Universe year 'round. When it comes to Fremont, she likes to say she's full of it!
Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is currently building a new North Seattle Transfer Station near Stone Way between N 34th & N 35th Streets. In the weekly construction update to neighbors they reported that work will be going on this Saturday, September 19th, from 9a – 5p, on the elevated deck.

On Saturday, September 19th, from 11a – 2p, Hallows Church will host the last, and still free, ‘Party In The Park’ of 2015, a last-chance to gather together the neighbors to celebrate a glorious summer and community good-will.
This month, Salsa Con Todo is offering two Salsa boot-camps – workshops in the dance form everyone wants to learn!
On Thursday, September 17th, at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center, Arc Iris will be performing genre-bending music that shifts between cabaret-infused jazz, orchestral sophistication, grimy outlaw country, and big-band exhilaration, all held together by delicate and whimsical harmonies.
On Saturday, September 26th, from 10:30a – 2p, the first-ever Bite Of Fremont will take place at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center. This fundraiser for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is being organized by Naturopathic Family Medicine, and being done in cooperation with 10 area restaurants.
On October 24th, from 5p – 9p, at Hale’s Palladium, our community is invited to support our public school, B.F. Day Elementary, with a fundraising dinner & auction.
This Friday, September 11th, starting at 8p, the Fremont Abbey Arts Center will host a concert by three quality folk artists – Lowland Hum, The Collection and Kathleen Murray. With tickets only $8 (in advance at Brown Paper,) this evening of thoughtful, carefully crafted music could be the perfect way to start the weekend.
On Saturday, September 12th, from 10a – 4p, Seattle Tilth invites everyone to participate in fun activities, appreciate locally grown organic food and support local farmers at the Harvest Fair at Meridian Playground in Wallingford.
