When it comes to Fremont, she likes to say she's full of it!

New Members Sought for City Of Seattle Landmarks Preservation Board

Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn invites residents to apply for two of the at-large positions being vacated on the Landmarks Preservation Board. The 12-member Board makes recommendations to the Seattle City Council on landmark designations, and reviews proposed physical alterations to landmarked properties. The deadline to submit an application for a position on the Board is February 28, 2012.

Two Informative Fremont Chamber Meetings Coming Up – On Taxes & Transportation

On Wednesday, February 15th, the Fremont Chamber of Commerce will host its monthly general membership meeting, this time with Paul Nicely of Eaton Vance. He will provide information on how politics affects taxes. On Thursday, February 16th, at 10a, the Fremont Chamber will host a special transportation meeting, at History House. This free, open-to-the-public discussion will feature representatives from King County METRO and the City of Seattle Office Of Economic Development(OED.)

For a donation that will support live theatre, an actor in Elizabethan costume will perform one of William Shakespeare’s immortal, romantic love sonnets to order for your special sweetie.

Call For Artists: Develop Art Projects for Vacant Storefronts

Storefronts Seattle, in partnership with the Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs, seeks artists to develop art projects for vacant storefronts in various Seattle neighborhoods, including Pioneer Square, the Chinatown-International District, Capitol Hill, South Lake Union and Rainier Beach. The projects will be programmed in available spaces throughout 2012 and into 2013. The deadline for applications is 11 p.m., Wednesday, February 22nd.

METRO Scales Back Proposed Route Changes

See current proposed changes on the METRO website, and attend one of the public meetings scheduled for input from riders, and all citizens, on proposed changes. The first meeting will be the one held closest to Fremont, at Ballard High School, on Monday, February 13th, from 6p – 8p.

Fremont Mischief Whiskey Tasting at NMUB on Feb 7th

On Tuesday, February 7th, from 8p – 10p, 9 Million in Unmarked Bills will host an exclusive rye whiskey tasting. Attendees at this 21+ event will be able to try both the John Jacob and Mischief whiskeys from Mischief Distillery, located right here in Fremont.
