She's served on the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, the Fremont Neighborhood Council and the Fremont Arts Council, and can be seen wandering the Center of the Universe year 'round. The Fremont Neighborhood Council (FNC) monthly meeting for August will be held this Monday, on the 22nd, starting at 7p. Starting this month, the volunteer organization has changed the location of their meeting from History House to Doric Lodge #92 at 619 N 35th Street.
In July, the Silence-Heart-Nest staff hosted Nimdoma Sherpa, of the Kingdom of Nepal. Nimdoma holds the record as the youngest woman ever to climb Mt. Everest. She climbed at age 16, celebrated her birthday on the mountain and summited at age 17. Now age 19, Nimdoma, the youngest woman ever to be on top of the world, has completed a mountain-climbing world tour including Mt. Rainier.

The talks come accompanied by projected slide images that automatically change every 15 seconds. With swift pacing, varied topics and engaging speakers, the evening promises to live up to the tagline – ‘Enlighten Us, But Make It Quick.’ Tickets, sold at the gates, cost $5, and the gathering will start at 8p.
