She's served on the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, the Fremont Neighborhood Council and the Fremont Arts Council, and can be seen wandering the Center of the Universe year 'round. Fremont Oktoberfest – Tickets Now on Sale

Advance tickets are now on sale for The Stranger Microbrew Garden at Fremont Oktoberfest, Seattle’s beer drinking tradition! Just $20 will secure admission, a souvenir Fremont Oktoberfest tasting mug and five tasting tokens. Or, guests can opt to boost their tasting experience with a grand admission or streamline it with a non-tasting admission. Ticket prices increase at the gate.

46th Street Mural Gets Fully Dedicated

In complete keeping with the incredible community-building energy behind this project, the official dedication of the new mural along the 46th Street underpass of Aurora Avenue collected together a great cross-section of the Fremont/Wallingford neighbors on Friday, August 27, 2010.

Fremont Library Closed Until September 7th

During the week-long closure of the Fremont Branch of the Seattle Public Library, please DO NOT LEAVE LIBRARY MATERIALS OUTSIDE THE LIBRARY! No library materials will be due for return through the furlough, all book drops will be closed – and any materials left outside the Fremont Library can be stolen or damaged by weather. For the benefit of all library patrons, retain any outstanding library materials and return them on September 7, or after.

Bye-Bye Buckaroo!

At the Fremont Neighborhood Council meeting on July 26, 2010, neighbors of the Buckaroo Tavern reported that the landlords of the landmark bar have not renewed the lease. The Buckaroo Tavern will close after ’72 years of beers at the Buck’ to be replaced by a ‘Spirits-Wine-Beer Restaurant’ according to the license application now posted on the building.

Final Free Music In The Sculpture Garden This Weekend

On Sunday, July 24, at 2p, The Whateverly Brothers, with special guests Blue Moon, will be the final performance of the Music In The Sculpture 2010 season. This free summer concert series has hosted a variety of musical acts throughout June and July, all under-cover in the front courtyard of History House, at 790 North 34th Street.

Fremont Remains Zombie Central

At the Outdoor Movies on Saturday, July 17, Ryan Reiter confirmed that Fremont successfully recaptured the Guiness World Record for the most zombies at the Red, White & Dead Zombie Walk held July 3, 2010 with 4233 registered zombies.
