Kirby has been in Fremont for a lifetime, as a resident, employee, employer, and playmate. She's served on the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, the Fremont Neighborhood Council and the Fremont Arts Council, and can be seen wandering the Center of the Universe year 'round. On Wednesday, October 31st, from 3p – 6p, Trick-or-Treat in Fremont returns for another opportunity to gather treats and treasures from 100+ businesses around the Center of the Universe!

On Saturday, October 20th, registration opens at 7:30a for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Gas Works Park. This American Cancer Society event will unite communities behind efforts to save lives from breast cancer.
On Saturday, October 27th, from 8p – 2a, the Fremont Foundry will once again host the Fremonster Spectacular Halloween Party extravaganza. The Fremonster Spectacular is a benefit party for The World Is Fun, a volunteer organization that helps philanthropic people find fun and engaging service projects.
On Wednesday, October 17th, at 8a, the Fremont Chamber of Commerce will host a special meeting featuring Bob Donegan, C.E.O. of Ivar’s. The meeting on ‘Competing for Success: Customer Service, Marketing, and Retaining Team Members’ will take place in the new Ounce of Prevention eatery.
On Sunday, October 14th, special guests will be leading worship at Emmanuel Church during the 10a service, as group of young artists from the ‘at-risk’ slums of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil will lead the gathering.
The Urban Earth Nursery, in East Fremont, still has plenty to share and sell for Fremont gardeners. The urban garden experts will also be giving tips and tricks for creating a satisfying garden for the Fall and Winter.
The Fremont Branch of the Seattle Public Library did a straw poll over the last few weeks, asking patrons how they came to visit our small library. The overwhelming answer was: by foot!
