Woodland Park Zoo Welcomes Some More Summer Babies

This weekend, June 30th and July 1st, the Woodland Park Zoo will host its annual ‘Red, White & Zoo’ event, where the animals are treated to July 4th themed treats. In addition, on July 5th, WPZ will honor improvements made around the park to better welcome those visitors with special needs, and make the Zoo more inclusive to all our neighbors.

Aurora Bridge Repainting Delayed Due To… Life!

A pair of red-tailed hawks built a nest on the support structure of the SR99 George Washington Memorial Bridge (a.k.a. Aurora Bridge), laid an egg and now further work painting and restoring the historic bridge will wait as the hawkling grows strong.

Woodland Park Zoo Welcomes Our First One-Horned Rhino

On May 5th, at the Woodland Park Zoo, the Assam Rhino Reserve will open and the public will have the first of many opportunities to meet Taj, our newest neighbor. This new special exhibition will showcase Asian brown tortoises, demoiselle cranes and two rhinos – the first of their species to live at Woodland Park in its 100+ year history.

SPL Free Museum Pass Program Expands To Include WPZ

The Seattle Public Library offers numerous opportunities and benefits to cardholders, and one of the lesser known is free admission passes to 16 Seattle area museums and cultural organizations. Woodland Park Zoo has just been added to the generous list of locations that Library cardholders can access, and our Zoo is the largest ticketing partnership now in the Museum Pass program.
