The Seattle Office of Arts & Culture (OAC,) in partnership with the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT,) is seeking site-specific artwork and design elements for the Madison Street Bus Rapid Transit Project (BRT). The deadline for applications for this commission is 11p on Monday, November 7th, and the total artwork project budget is estimated at $125,000.

The Seattle Office of Arts & Culture is seeking artists to develop temporary art for a fence for the 2017 Poetry Garden Art Series on the campus of Seattle Center. The theme for the art is ‘Seattle Center Festál Turns 20.’ The budget for this art work is $1,000 – for design, fabrication and installation.
For one month, the non-profit Coltura is staging ‘Gas Station Theatre: Ghosts Of Gasoline’ at public locations around Seattle. On Wednesday, September 21st, at 5:30p, Coltura will bring one of these free, original outdoor performances to the ‘People Waiting For The Interurban’ statue by Rich Beyer.
On Sunday, September 25th, the Relay Dance Collective will stage two performances of its first-ever, new choreography showcase, called ‘Showcase.’

The Fremont Arts Council (FAC) welcomes everyone to come make art in the public Powerhouse workshop at 3940 Fremont Ave N, for free! This month, they will host lantern making sessions, in preparation for Luminata at dusk on September 21st at Green Lake.
Registration is still open for the upcoming weekend ‘Painting Experience’ workshop being held in Fremont, at Doric Lodge #92, on September 30th – October 2nd.
On Wednesday, September 21st, the Fremont Arts Council (FAC) will host its annual Luminata Lantern Walk at Green Lake. The FAC has a Luminata Art Grant fund to give awards from $100 to $500 per project, to cover artist fees, materials & supplies, equipment purchase or rental, and/or transportation. These grants are available for existing art as well as original pieces and performances.
