All Stone Way Café friends of the past, present and future are invited to gather for an open mic this Thursday, April 16th for the talented artists of this community. Sign-ups will start at 7p, with performers/speakers/readers going on from 7:30p – 10:30p.
Calling all Fremont artists and graphic designers: the Fremont Arts Council (FAC) needs your proposals and designs for a kick-ass poster and killer t-shirt to promote and represent the 2015 Solstice Parade. The FAC can use one image for both applications, or two different designs.
A few tickets remain on sale for seatings on April 9th, 10th & 11th of Seattle Blind Café, at NalandaWest. This pop-up, heart-opening experience can still be taken, for those looking to taste of positive social change in the dark.
The Rotary Club of Fremont is holding a public vote to discover the names of the Fremont Dino topiaries. Long referred to as ‘Mama & Baby,’ the wise minds of the Official Dino Caretakers heard a whisper that these Fremonsters want us to figure out their names – and that they may not even be female… (A fact in serious doubt by this writer!)
This weekend, on Saturday, April 4th, from Noon – 4p, volunteers are needed to clean up and organize the FAC permanent workshop space, The Powerhouse.
On Monday, April 6th, at 6:30p, at the Fremont Branch of the Seattle Public Library (SPL,) the public can enjoy a free presentation of live poetry, read by the poets, with a question-and-answer session to follow. This comes in conjunction with National Poetry Month, being celebrated at several branches of the SPL.
On Friday, April 3rd, from 6p – 9p, everyone is invited to take part in the art extravaganza and community exploration that is the Fremont First Friday Art Walk.
Until March 31st, the Fremont Arts Council (FAC) is soliciting resumes from anyone interested, and qualified, for a contract position doing fundraising and development for the non-profit organization that produces the world-famous, arts-rich Solstice Parade.
On March 4th, Stone Soup Theatre announced on its Facebook page that, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Stone Soup Theatre has had to take the incredibly drastic step of cancelling our remaining performances of Sam Shepard’s ‘The God Of Hell.’”
On March 9th, at 7:30p, the Ladies Musical Club (LMC) of Seattle continues its popular public concert series at University House Wallingford, on the Fremont border. This one-hour concert is appropriate for all ages – and no tickets are required.
