Fremont Arts Council Rummage Sale To Benefit The Solstice Parade This Weekend!

This weekend, help stage the spectacular, sensational and singular Fremont Arts Council (FAC) Solstice Parade – while getting some great bargains! The annual FAC Rummage Sale will take place this Saturday and Sunday, April 21st & 22nd, from 9a – 4p, at the Powerhouse (3940 Fremont Avenue North) with all proceeds going to the building of the 2012 Solstice Parade. Find some treasures, and help with the ‘glue-and-scissors’ fund for the Parade.

Cystic Fibrosis ‘Troll Stroll’ Wanders Fremont This Saturday

On Saturday, April 21st, the 11th Annual Fremont Troll Stroll, to benefit Cystic Fibrosis research and care, will wander its way among the drinking establishments at the Center of the Universe. To be a part of the fun, and fundraising, register with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for $45 by Thursday, April 19th.

Passing – Richard Beyer, Fremont’s First Public Artist

On Monday, April 9th, 2012, Richard Sternoff Beyer passed away following a serious stroke he sustained on March 27th. Beyer is survived by his wife, Dorothy Scholz-Beyer, and his children Elizabeth Beyer Miller and Charles S. Beyer, and two step-children, Charles Scholz and Anna Scholz Godas, and 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Art Walk Gets A Move On April 6th

The Fremont First Friday Art Walk gets moving this Friday, April 6th from 6p – 9p. This month Adobe Systems Inc has joined the line-up of participating venues, with art work by Kate Protage.

Final Days Of Girl Scout Cookies

March 18th will be the final day of Girl Scout Cookie Sales for the Western Washington Totem Council. After that, the only way to get those delicious cookies will be to steal them from less-than-vigilant relatives, or wait for March 2013.

Become A Producer…Of The Double (XX) Fest at Stone Soup

Each year in the spring, Stone Soup Theatre presents the Double (XX) Play Fest (this year April 19th – May 6th.) This showcase provides audiences a chance to sample short plays written and directed by women. This year a Kickstarter campaign allows audience members to transform themselves into production producers – with small or large donations.
