Fremont Chamber Hosts ‘Breakfast of Shameless Self-Promotion’

On Wednesday, November 16th, from 8a – 9:30a, the Fremont Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual ‘Breakfast of Shameless Self-Promotion.’ This popular gathering allows everyone – business owners, philanthropists, event organizers, the underemployed, and/or a City of Seattle Mayor – to share information about their passion with others from our community.

One Month Left To Enter ‘Bikes For Books’ at Fremont Library

The Doric Lodge #92 – Fremont’s own Masonic Temple – encourages all elementary school children to get reading, and enter the ‘Bikes For Books’ program hosted by the Fremont Branch of the Seattle Public Library. Deadline to enter to win a bike looms ever closer – children must submit their entry by Friday, December 16th!

Get Up Close With The Matas Mural at Lama G’s

Last week, on a sunny autumn afternoon, visual artist Jonathan Matas added further to the mural he’s creating for Lama G’s Café. A student at neighboring Nalanda West Center for American Buddhism, Matas has been hard at work on several commission in that area – trim on the windows at Art Of The Table and another mural for the newly relocated Oom Yung Doe martial arts school across the street.

National Television/Radio Emergency Alert on November 9th

Please help spread the word that on Wednesday, November 9th at 11a (2p E.S.T.) a nationwide test of the emergency alert system (EAS) will be conducted. More than 20,000 television and radio broadcast stations across the United States will participate in this first-ever, nationwide, 30-second test.

Backbar Beauties Burlesque at Backdoor @ Roxy’s Nov 6th

This Sunday, November 6th, the Backdoor @ Roxy’s will feature two burlesque shows, at 7p & 9p, starring the Backbar Beauties. Fremont’s own speakeasy will go a little more vintage, and a little more racy, as the Beauties bring burlesque to this strictly 21 and over establishment.

Poets Read at the Fremont Library This Saturday, Nov 5th

This Saturday, November 5th, from 2p – 3:30p, three published poets will each share a sample of their work at the Fremont Branch of the Seattle Public Library. This free program, sponsored also by the Washington Poets Association, allows Fremonsters a chance to hear the quality poetry of David Mason, Judith Roche and David Horowitz.
