Say Farewell To The Thunderbird Eyesore

According to reliable sources, Catholic Housing Services has received a promise of funding from the State of Washington and the City of Seattle to build their proposed affordable permanent housing in Fremont. The 71-unit building will be constructed on the west side of Aurora Avenue North, at the former site of the Thunderbird Motel.

Peak Park Community Clean Up On Oct. 30th

This Sunday, October 30th, from 10a – 1p, the Friends of Fremont Peak Park will hold one of their popular work parties. Mulching and planting, as well as a little trimming, are planned. Ready or Not, Here Comes Not A Number!

After nearly six years in Wallingford, the legendary gift shop, Not A Number, has moved on. While owners Kara Ceriello and John DeLeeuw originally started the shop on Queen Anne, they looked toward Ballard for relocation. Yet, the cosmos – and that wondrous pull of the Center of the Universe – drew them to Fremont where they intend to reopen on November 11, 2011, “disseminating progressive ideas and items,” as the shop motto states.
