Beginning the week of July 18th, as part of the Fremont Siphon Sewer Project, crews from King County will do maintenance work on the both the Queen Anne and Fremont access points. In Fremont, intermittent work will occur near 2nd Avenue NW and NW Canal Street, with heavy equipment, noise, dust and odor expected.
On Sunday, July 17th, attend the free acoustic concert at History House, as part of the Music In The Sculpture Garden series. This week at 2p will be a new band, The Killdeers, and at 3p The Boys Of Greenwood Glen return to the MITSG stage.
On Saturday, July 16th, from 11a – 2p, the Seattle Police Foundation have invited all those who live, work and play on Seattle’s waterways to enjoy a picnic with the Seattle Police Department Harbor Patrol. Come meet the officers, check out the station (located just west of Gas Works Park, at 1717 N. Northlake Pl) and learn more about the equipment and training that the Patrol use to keep us safe.
On Saturday, July 16th, at 8p, at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center, an evening of dances, choreographed and performed by Seattle’s next generation of dance makers, will be showcased under the title of THREADS.
This Thursday, July 14th, at 6p, Hub And Bespoke, Fremont’s own ‘cycle boutique’ will host a summertime movie night, featuring a classic film about a boy and his bike – Pee Wee’s Big Adventure.
On Saturday, July 16th, the Fremont Outdoor Movie gets Twilight, the 2008 film phenomena that actually managed to convert Forks, Washington into a tourist destination spot!
This summer, the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will repave North 34th Street from Fremont Avenue North to Stone Way North. On the nights of Monday, July 11th and Tuesday, July 12th, crews will remove the existing top layer of asphalt from the street with a pavement grinding machine. They will work on the north side of the street on July 11th, and the south side on July 12th, according to the current schedule.
Sunday, July 10th, from 2p – 4p, will be the latest installment in the free concert series held in the covered courtyard at History House. Come enjoy Music In the Sculpture Garden, and a Sunday afternoon of high-quality acoustic music.
On Monday, July 11th, starting at 6:30p, a Design Review Early Design Guidance meeting will be held at University Heights Center (5031 University Way NE) about a proposal for a 4 or 5-story building at 4111 Stone Way North. At the early guidance meeting, the permit applicants for this project will present information, and the public may offer comments.
This Saturday, July 9th, the Fremont Outdoor Movies will screen the 2004 Will Ferrell romp Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. This comedy takes on the culture of the 1970s, and action news, in a high-camp style ideal for the Outdoor Cinema setting.
