Replacement of the Fremont Siphon, by King County Wastewater Treatment Division, continues, and construction of the outer wall of the tunnel shaft has begun.
The replacement of the 100-year-old Fremont Siphon has begun, and traffic detours will be part of this almost two-year-long construction project. The King County Wastewater Treatment Division wants everyone to be aware, and prepared, for the impacts of this project.
Last week, two members of the Wallingford Boys & Girls Club, won an award for their vision for the future of Seattle.
On Monday, May 4th, at 6:30p, at the Ballard Community Center, the public is invited to participate in an Early Design Review of the development planned for 3519 Fremont Pl N, (permit #3018992) a six-story structure of 45 residential units above retail space with no parking. This meeting will deal exclusively site planning and design issues.
On Monday, April 13, at 8p, at the University Heights Community Center, a public meeting is planned for input on the development proposed for 3860 Bridge Way N. The proposal is for a 5-story structure containing 18 residential units and 5 live/work units, and no on-site parking (permit #3018230.)
Until March 31st, the Fremont Arts Council (FAC) is soliciting resumes from anyone interested, and qualified, for a contract position doing fundraising and development for the non-profit organization that produces the world-famous, arts-rich Solstice Parade.
On Monday, March 23rd, the Fremont Neighborhood Council (FNC) will hold its monthly meeting. All Fremont residents are welcome to attend and get involved in advocating on our neighborhood issues. FNC meetings are held at Doric Lodge #92 starting at 7p.

On Monday, March 2nd, at 6:30p, the public can attend the City of Seattle Design Review on a development proposed for 743 N 35th, next door to the Fremont Branch of the Seattle Public Library. This presentation will take place at the Ballard Community Center, and will discuss the construction of a five-story structure containing 56 residential units, 1,881 sq. ft. of retail and 10 parking spaces below grade.
