On Monday, June 24th, the Fremont Neighborhood Council will hold its monthly meeting – with an agenda full of information for residents that want to know what changes to expect to traffic in Fremont. Starting at 7p, at Doric Lodge #92, the public are invited to come learn more.
At the Fremont Fair, on June 22nd & 23rd, the King County Wastewater Treatment Team will have a booth. Team members will be able to talk to Fremonsters about the new facility that will be built in West Fremont in 2014.
The community based effort to improve the playground surrounding the historic B.F. Day Elementary School building continues to move forward, with playground equipment selection and construction expected this summer.
Due to the Memorial Day holiday, the next meeting of the Fremont Neighborhood Council will take place on Monday, May 20th, at 7p at Doric Lodge #92.

Catholic Housing Services seeks an artist to create a permanent display for the new affordable housing building being developed at 4251 Aurora Avenue North (the former Thunderbird Motel site.) The selected artist will create a mosaic/mural for the approximately 15’ long x 5’ tall area above the computer workstations, for a $1,500 stipend to cover time and materials. Preference will be given to members of the Fremont Arts Council, and/or artists who have ties to the Fremont community.
On Tuesday, March 26th, from 5:30p – 7:30p, at the Fremont Branch of the Seattle Public Library, an Open House on the King County Fremont Siphon Replacement Project will show the progress of public design on this project, and the next steps to be taken.
The City of Seattle Department of Planning & Development sends out information on developments happening around the city through its Land Use Information Bulletins. In February, three notices have been posted regarding substantial changes to come to property in Fremont.
On Saturday, January 12th, from 10a – 2p, King County invites everyone to attend a design workshop for the Fremont Siphon Replacement Project, to be held at B.F. Day Elementary School. The Project will include a facility to be built on the Fremont side of the Lake Washington Ship Canal, and members of our community will have this opportunity to shape the architecture and landscape vision of this permanent structure.
The Seattle Department of Planning & Development has reported updates on two pending permit applications for major projects in Fremont, for the beginning of January 2013.
