Hey! Volunteer – And Help The Fremont Chamber!

The last weekend of September is the Fremont Oktoberfest – one of the greatest beer festivals in the world! Seriously! The organizers, Bold Hat Productions, have the awards to prove it.

However, the festival depends upon the generosity of a huge cadre of volunteers – including you! Particularly on Saturday evening, September 24th, for the 7p – close (11:45p) shift. Fremont Oktoberfest needs pour-ers to get the beer out and keep the festival from having to shut down early.

Painting Party Scheduled for Bridge Way Mural

Volunteers are needed for a painting party scheduled for THIS SATURDAY, August 13th, from 10a – 2p, to remove graffiti from the beleaguered Bridge Way Mural. At 10a, volunteers can meet at the Powerhouse (3940 Fremont Avenue North) to help carry paint and supplies up to the mural. At the mural, volunteers will be needed all day to wield a paintbrush, cleaning supplies, and doing some landscaping at the mural along Bridge Way under Aurora Avenue.

Still Time to Train for the ‘Ultimate Beer Run’

Start training for the 9th annual Fremont Oktoberfest 5K presented by Pyramid Breweries, and scheduled for Sunday, September 25th at 10:00am. The official 5K takes runners from Solstice Plaza (near N. 34th Street and Fremont Ave North) along the scenic Burke-Gilman Trail and Lake Union Ship Canal to finish at the Fremont Oktoberfest Pyramid Breweries Village Beer Garden.

‘Picnic in The Park’ On Wed, June 15th

On Wednesday, June 15th, the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with many other North Seattle business organizations, will host a City Council Candidate’s Forum at Gas Works Park. This annual tradition offers a great lunch (this year done by Cameron Catering,) time to network and schmooze with area business owners and movers & shakers, plus an invaluable chance to meet the folk who want your vote in the 2011 election for the Seattle City Council.
