The Emmanuel Bible Church operates a Men’s Shelter through the winter, and they depend upon volunteers to cook or serve a meal to visitors each night. If you, or your group/organization, would be willing to reserve a meal service date, the shelter needs more help – especially on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
On Saturday, February 9th, starting at Noon, the Seattle Cupid’s Undie Run returns to Fremont, and The Ballroom, for the largest pant-less party – with 100% of net proceeds raised going to fund research for neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder.
On Monday, January 28th at 6p, the local Ben Franklin Circle will meet at the Fremont Branch of the Seattle Public Library. Anyone who is interested in joining this conversation club is welcome to attend.
On second Thursdays – January 10th, February 14th and March 14th – at 7p, the Wallingford Community Senior Center will host ‘Death Café’, a safe space for serious discussion.
Located in the Burke Building (400 N 34th,) next door to the UW Northwest Primary Care Clinic, the Bellevue Pain Institute has now opened a Fremont branch.
On Wednesday, December 26th, the Bloodworks Northwest bloodmobile will be at the Fremont Fred Meyer’s store (915 NW 45th St.)
On Thursday, November 15th, from 5:30p – 7:30p, the Fremont location of Flow Fitness (in the basement of the Featherspring Building, at 710 N 35th St) will celebrate its first year providing health and wellness to our community.
On Saturday, October 20th, registration opens at 7:30a for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Gas Works Park. This American Cancer Society event will unite communities behind efforts to save lives from breast cancer.
The film ‘3100: Run And Become’ will be showing at the Varsity Theater in the U-District for two-week run, starting Friday, September 7th. Opening night, there will be a special presentation before the screening as well as guests in attendance, including the director and members of the community surrounding our beloved Silence-Heart-Nest restaurant.
