Saturday, July 16th, Come Participate In the First Harbor Patrol Picnic

On Saturday, July 16th, from 11a – 2p, the Seattle Police Foundation have invited all those who live, work and play on Seattle’s waterways to enjoy a picnic with the Seattle Police Department Harbor Patrol. Come meet the officers, check out the station (located just west of Gas Works Park, at 1717 N. Northlake Pl) and learn more about the equipment and training that the Patrol use to keep us safe.

‘Picnic in The Park’ On Wed, June 15th

On Wednesday, June 15th, the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with many other North Seattle business organizations, will host a City Council Candidate’s Forum at Gas Works Park. This annual tradition offers a great lunch (this year done by Cameron Catering,) time to network and schmooze with area business owners and movers & shakers, plus an invaluable chance to meet the folk who want your vote in the 2011 election for the Seattle City Council.

Update On The Fremont Siphon replacement project

King County Wastewater Treatment Division has plans to replace the existing, nearly 100-year old Fremont siphon that runs beneath the Lake Union Ship Canal. Once 30% of the design process has been completed, environmental review will begin under the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA), to be completed in early 2012. More outreach is planned to help the public understand the project and best participate in the SEPA process. HONK! This Weekend, At Gas Works & Around the Town

On Saturday, May 14th, from Noon – 6p, Gas Works Park will be overrun by marching brass, and Honk! Fest West. The celebration of brass bands, drum corps, and samba lines sets off to stroll the grassy meadows of Gas Works, with entertainment for all ages, and all for free!

First Community Work Party for the Fremont Wetlands Trail Park

Saturday, May 14th, from Noon – 4p, will be the first volunteer community party for the Fremont Wetland Trail Park. Come out and help other Fremonsters – and anyone with a will to hike and explore nature in the middle of Seattle – clean up and start creating a community-based green space, just south of the Fremont Bridge.
