Oktoberfest Round 2 INDOORS This Weekend

This Saturday, October 5th, help buy another round for Fremont schools, arts groups, and community events & projects. The Fremont Oktoberfest Round 2 will take place from 11a – Midnight inside the dry, heated space of Fremont Studios, continuing raising funds for the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, and its Community Grants program.

Lantern Making In Progress At The Powerhouse

On Saturday, September 21st, the Fremont Arts Council will hold its annual Luminata Lantern Procession at Green Lake, celebrating the Fall Equinox, community and, as with every FAC event, art. Between now and then, the FAC has invited everyone interested – of every age and skill – to come by The Powerhouse (3940 Fremont Ave N) and make a lantern for Luminata. Workshops will take place this weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, Sep 14th & 15th, from Noon – 6p. They will also be open Monday – Thursday this week (Sep 16th – 19th) from 6p – 9p.

Benefit for CWB at The Sixgill

On Thursday, September 5th, starting at 6:30p, one of the newest drinking establishments in Fremont – The Sixgill – will host a fundraising party for the Center for Wooden Boats (CWB.)

New Art/Utility In Fremont Identified!

Located at the western edge of Solstice Plaza, the piece entitled ‘Within Reach’ by Troy Pillow was installed by Kilroy Realty on ‘Bike To Work Day,’ May 17, 2013. It is a whimsical, colorful piece of art that is also a bike rack, with working lighting.
