She's served on the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, the Fremont Neighborhood Council and the Fremont Arts Council, and can be seen wandering the Center of the Universe year 'round. Upcoming Closures of SR99/Aurora Avenue South Of Fremont

Routine closures of SR99/Aurora Avenue have begun, largely due to the construction of a tunnel to replace the Alaskan Way Viaduct. While happening south of Fremont, these closures could significantly impact traffic here well beyond simply disrupting the traffic patterns of Fremont drivers.

Free Screening of A Locally Made Documentary On The Fremont Troll

On Wednesday, August 1st, at 7p, at Hale’s Palladium, the Fremont community is invited to a special free screening of the documentary ‘The Hall Of Giants’, presented by Anarky Productions. This feature-length documentary, directed by Michael Falcone, gives the background about the creation and mythology about the fabulous, and much beloved, Fremont Troll sculpture.

Farewell J.P. Patches – Chris Wedes

‘Bye-bye for now!’ On Sunday, July 22nd, Chris Wedes passed away at age 84. Wedes, who had battled cancer for years, was very well known to native Seattlites (and Fremonsters) as Julius Pierpont Patches – or J.P. Patches to the ‘Patches Pals’ that grew up watching his Emmy winning television program.

Time To Train for the Fremont Oktoberfest 5K Brew Ha-Ha

Join the race to the beer garden during the Fremont Oktoberfest on Sunday, September 23rd, at 10a, for the 10th Annual 5K Brew Ha-Ha. The official route takes runners from Solstice Plaza (behind 837 N 34th St) along the scenic Burke-Gilman Trail and the Lake Washington Ship Canal – and to the beer gardens of the Oktoberfest at the Center of the Universe.
