Kirby has been in Fremont for a lifetime, as a resident, employee, employer, and playmate. She's served on the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, the Fremont Neighborhood Council and the Fremont Arts Council, and can be seen wandering the Center of the Universe year 'round. When it comes to Fremont, she likes to say she's full of it!
On Sunday, Nov 25th, at 2p, the Fremont Branch of Seattle Public Library will host, with the Fremont Historical Society and the Queen Anne Historical Society, co-authors Paul Dorpat and Jean Sherrard for the release of their latest book, Seattle Now & Then: The Historic Hundred.
For those unfamiliar with the beautiful offerings at Juniper, they will be hosting a one-day-only Holiday Pop-Up Shop on Saturday, November 24th, from 10a – 3p featuring spiced cider and specialty products crafted by local artisans.
The fine folks at Bar House have sought out a way to help the disenfranchised and homeless in our community. They’ve decided on a weekly benefit with beer!

Residents who live near the Fremont Troll, and several of them who clean and maintain the park around the popular sculpture, have crafted a letter and a plea to neighbors to request help from the City of Seattle. They’ve sent out a letter asking everyone to write or e-mail City officials asking for removal of encampments in the park land around the Fremont Troll.
The Emmanuel Bible Church, located across the street from Woodland Park Zoo on N 50th, has opened their seasonal men’s shelter to provide a clean, warm, safe place for men to sleep at night, with a hot meal, during the cold winter months.
The Fremont Arts Council (FAC) events committee has created a public survey to collect information on potential volunteers and attendees at the annual ‘Feast of the Winter Solstice’.
Everyone is invited to join in for a tasty meal at the Wallingford Community Senior Center. Even if you don’t want to eat – volunteers are being sought.
There have been recent thefts at area businesses, and your help is being requested in identifying the thieves and reporting them to Seattle Police.
