Fremont always has art to show, but we have significantly more – along with the artists – during the First Friday Art Walk. Come check out the art, and meet some of the creators, from 6p – 9p on March 3rd.
Over the weekend of June 16th – 18th, the 19th Annual Seattle Art Car BlowOut (SACBO) takes place around our city, primarily in Fremont. The legendary Art Cars will be featured at the Fremont Street Fair over Solstice Weekend, but SACBO is much more.
On Saturday, February 18th, from 2p – 3:30p, Elissa Washuta will present portions of her literary work written during her residency in the northwest tower of the Fremont Bridge last summer.
On Wednesday, February 15th at 7:15p, or Thursday, February 16th at Noon, enjoy an informative and inspirational class in the ancient art of Ikebana.
Coming up at West of Lenin, February 16th – March 4th, will be three short monologues written by well-respected playwrights, exploring identity and our common humanity. ‘Three Americans: Voices of Hope’ will bring the words of three diverse and celebrated playwrights directly to audiences.
On Tuesday, February 14th, at 7:10p, the Fremont Arts Council (FAC) will host its monthly public meeting to discuss upcoming activities including planning for the upcoming Petit Troll Parade and elections for its Board of Directors.
Each year Fremocentrist.com readers, and other supporters of the Fremont community, vote on their choices for Best Business, Best Citizen and Best Non-Profit Organization (or Project) in the last year. This year, thanks to the Fremont Branch Library, more people than ever were able to cast a paper ballot, in addition to those sent by e-mail directly to the Fremocentrist.com office.
On Friday, February 3rd, from 6p – 9p, the Fremont First Friday Art Walk offers a chance to stroll and scope out the selection of art, and artists, available at area shops and restaurants. This monthly, free exploration of assorted Fremont art venues gives everyone a chance for an injection of culture and inspiration.
The Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, in partnership with Seattle Public Utilities, continues to seek an artist (or artist team,) for site specific artwork reflective of Coast Salish historic and cultural connections.
On Monday, January 30th, from 6:30p – 8:30p, a 12-week series of classes begins in ‘The Artist’s Way’ by Julia Cameron, taught in the Windows Art Gallery in East Fremont. On Friday mornings, starting January 27th, from 10:30 – 12:30p, learn about tapping your creative side, and skills, in this 12-week class based on Cameron’s ‘It’s Never Too Late To Begin Again.’
