Moonlight Float Move – and the Solstice Parade Build Final Days

This Friday night, June 17th, starting at 9p, you can witness the most amazing spectacle ever – the Solstice Parade in reverse! The floats that will be on-display during the parade on Saturday at Noon need to be moved into place – they are big, they are heavy, and many hands make light work. Plus, it’s a great way to help the parade, and get a sneak peek!

Things do go a little wacky here at the Center of the Universe in the time of the Solstice, and the Fremont Fair. On June 14, 2011, local developer Brian Regan reported some interesting happenings going on in the ‘hood – particularly in the area of his property at 3417 Evanston Avenue North.

West of Lenin Premiere Performance: Sandbox Radio

This summer Fremont has many reasons to celebrate, including the arrival west of the Interurban and west of the center of the universe of West Of Lenin, a new 88-seat black box theater space now available for small theatrical works and live music performances, at 203 N 36th St.

Opening Weekend for Music in the Sculpture Garden

This Sunday, June 5th, kicks-off the 7th season of the annual Music In The Sculpture Garden concert series at History House (790 N. 34th St). These FREE concerts, featuring some of the Puget Sound’s best acoustic musicians, will be held weekly from 2p – 4p, in the covered courtyard of History House.

Fremont Fair Posters at Frame Up

Again this year, Frame Up Studios will sell the fabulous Fremont Fair posters (before, during and after the festival) to raise money for Solid Ground, and their programs to end poverty through building community.

‘Beyond Naked’ Documentary Launches A Kickstarter Campaign

Fremonster and film director Dan McComb has been collecting interviews and information this spring on the scene-stealing opening act of the Solstice Parade – the painted cyclists. His film, titled ‘Beyond Naked’, now has a campaign running on Kickstarter to solicit donations to help complete what promises to be a lighthearted, and well-researched, look at the history, dilemmas and fascination naked bicyclists have incited.
