Changes To City Of Seattle Building Department, As It Splits In Two

The City of Seattle will be dividing up its Department of Planning & Development (DPD) in the new year. With the retirement of DPD Director Diane Sugimura, the department that handles building permits, land use zoning, occupancy, and inspections, will be split in two. The two new departments will be the Seattle Department of Construction & Inspections and the Office of Planning & Community Development.

Call For Artists for New Artwork For New Westlake & Lenora Park

The Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, in partnership with the Seattle Department of Parks & Recreation, is seeking an artist, or a team of artists, to design, fabricate and install a site-integrated artwork piece for outdoors in a new park to be located at the intersection of Westlake Avenue and Lenora Street.

Just Confirmed – Stone Soup’s DownStage Theater Goes Dark At End Of 2015

On Monday, November 9th, Stone Soup Theatre Artistic Director Maureen Miko sent out an e-mail explaining the new direction being taken by the theatrical company. While the non-profit will continue their exceptional work with youth, through drama outreach, summer camps and the Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs Creative Advantage Program, they will no longer be producing professional theater productions at their DownStage Theater space (4029 Stone Way N), after December 2015.
