This Saturday, May 7th, the Fremont Abbey Arts Center will host the Upper Fremont Festival of the Arts (a.k.a. UFFA!) This will be an open-to-the-public, mostly free, celebration with plenty of entertainment for all ages, as well as demonstrations, live music, visual art, and giveaways! The Double XX Fest at Stone Soup Theatre calls it a wrap this weekend, April 21 – 23, but not without giving audiences its absolute, very best! ‘The Best of the Fest’ show features six short plays, selected by celebrity judges and audience votes, as the favorites of both the first and second weeks of the Fest.
On Sunday, April 17th, at 1p, learn how to grow what you eat in flexible, portable and versatile containers. At Urban Earth(1051 N 35th St), Garden Consultant Maia Eisen will teach attendees how to create a container garden that is beautiful as well as edible. For those with no yard space, or those who simply want to expand their options.

On Wednesdays from January 12 to March 9, 2011, the Bastyr Center for Natural Health (3670 Stone Way N) will offer a nine-week weight management program called “Weigh To Go”. The unique and comprehensive program combines individual counseling with weekly group sessions to help meet personal goals for a healthier lifestyle. The program costs $300 for the entire 9-week program, and the registration deadline is December 17th.
