A locally produced documentary, on the history of the Fremont Arts Council, the Fremont Troll and installation of public art, will have a second screening on August 26th at 6p at the Doric Lodge #92. With only a week left before taking to the streets with its singular creativity on June 16th at Noon, the 2012 Fremont Arts Council (FAC) Solstice Parade still offers plenty of opportunities for you to engage and get involved.
Come help build the 2012 Solstice Parade, with the Fremont Arts Council, at the Powerhouse (3940 Fremont Ave N.) Workshops take place frequently over the next month, although the studio is open every day and anyone can show up and lend a hand. The Powerhouse studio hours just now are 6p – 9p on weeknights, 9a – 6p on weekends. Remember, the best way to enjoy this parade is to be in the parade – at Noon on Saturday, June 16th.
The ‘We The People Power’ Festival, on June 16th at Gas Works Park from 1p – 7p, will harness and celebrate the power of community. A series of fun-filled work parties, preparing the games, art and projects to be shared at the festival, will give everyone a chance to enjoy people-power in advance. Every Thursday, leading up to June 16th, at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center, downstairs, organizers will gather to build the festival, with orientations taking place at 6:15p for those curious to know more.
