Woodland Park Zoo Welcomes Our First One-Horned Rhino

On May 5th, at the Woodland Park Zoo, the Assam Rhino Reserve will open and the public will have the first of many opportunities to meet Taj, our newest neighbor. This new special exhibition will showcase Asian brown tortoises, demoiselle cranes and two rhinos – the first of their species to live at Woodland Park in its 100+ year history.

Learn How To Care For Roses With The Seattle Rose Society

On Saturday, February 24th, from Noon – 3p, Woodland Park Zoo welcomes the Seattle Rose Society for its annual rose pruning demonstration in the Rose Garden. This free, educational presentation offers everyone opportunities to ask questions and gain insight on how to care for roses, whether a veteran gardener or a curious wannabee.

Need Respondents To Student Survey On Environmental Attitudes

An Environmental Studies Major at the University of Washington is doing research aimed at identifying trends, based on demographic factors, attitudes about the environment, and interest in participation in the legislative process. She has assembled a survey and needs participants to gather information for her report.
