Kirby has been in Fremont for a lifetime, as a resident, employee, employer, and playmate. She's served on the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, the Fremont Neighborhood Council and the Fremont Arts Council, and can be seen wandering the Center of the Universe year 'round. When it comes to Fremont, she likes to say she's full of it!

Call For Artist for the Ship Canal Public Art Project

The Seattle Office of Arts & Culture (ARTS), in partnership with Seattle Public Utilities, is seeking to commission one artist/artist team to design, fabricate and install an outdoor, two-part artwork. As part of the Ship Canal Water Quality Project, the City is seeking an art work that celebrates our community identity and history with two points of installation on either side of the Fremont Bridge and Lake Union Ship Canal.

Repainting Aurora Bridge Work Resumes This Spring

This spring, contractors will continue repainting the historic, 87-year-old George Washington Memorial (a.k.a. Aurora) Bridge for the Washington State Department of Transportation. It will take about 15,000 gallons of paint, and about two more years, to complete the cleaning and repainting of the steel structure.
