Find The Beautiful Art, And Beautiful People, At Fremont’s Art Walk
On March 4th, from 6p – 9p, the First Friday Art Walk brings art, culture and entertainment to a dozen venues around the Fremont neighborhood.
Kirby has been in Fremont for a lifetime, as a resident, employee, employer, and playmate. She's served on the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, the Fremont Neighborhood Council and the Fremont Arts Council, and can be seen wandering the Center of the Universe year 'round. When it comes to Fremont, she likes to say she's full of it!
On March 4th, from 6p – 9p, the First Friday Art Walk brings art, culture and entertainment to a dozen venues around the Fremont neighborhood.
This Thursday, March 3rd, from 3p – 6p, Seattle City Councilmember Mike O’Brien will hold ‘open office hours’ at the Fremont Branch of the Seattle Public Library.

On Sunday, March 6th, starting at 8p, The Barrel Thief Wine & Whiskey Bar will launch a weekly gathering for those working in the service and hospitality industry – around Fremont and everywhere in the region.
Next week, on Wednesday, March 2nd at 7:15p and Thursday, March 3rd at Noon, everyone is invited to take a one-time-only class – or join the series – in The Art of Ikebana.
On Saturday, February 27th, from 3p – 5p, at the Fremont Branch of the Seattle Public Library, newly elected Seattle Board Member Rick Burke will be on-hand to talk about our schools.
On Leap Day, Monday, February 29th, from 4:30p – 6p, at the Red Door, we all have a last opportunity to say ‘thank you’ and ‘fare thee well’ (or, your own words…) to the always helpful and ever-present (until now) Jessica Vets! Cost is a $20/$25 donation to the Fremont Chamber of Commerce.
Phase 1 construction of the Westlake Cycle Track is wrapping up. Dependent upon the weather, phase 2 should begin in March. In mid-February, construction included testing of concrete stamps in preparation for public art also coming to the Westlake corridor. Fabrication of an art piece, named ‘JewelBoats’ and created by Jennifer Dixon, has begun.
On Sunday, February 28th, 7p – 10p, enjoy a special concert and celebration with classical guitarist Andre Feriante, for the release of his new album, ‘Terra de Eros’, at The Barrel Thief Wine & Whiskey Bar.
Applications are due March 6th for those interested in joining the Seattle Tilth free volunteer training program, and learning how to be a Master Composter /Soil Builder this spring.
