First Anniversary Party For The Barrel Thief On July 24th
This Thursday, July 24th, from 5p – midnight-ish, The Barrel Thief Wine & Whiskey Bar will celebrate its First Anniversary – and everyone (over 21 years old) is invited!
Kirby has been in Fremont for a lifetime, as a resident, employee, employer, and playmate. She's served on the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, the Fremont Neighborhood Council and the Fremont Arts Council, and can be seen wandering the Center of the Universe year 'round. When it comes to Fremont, she likes to say she's full of it!

All Seattle Public Library (SPL) card holders, ages 18 and up, are invited to enter the SPL’s first ever e-book self-publishing contest. Using Smashwords, local writers can publish their book, and then submit the e-book to the Library for consideration, by 11:59p on Wednesday, October 15th.
This Saturday, July 19th, enjoy ‘The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou’ at the Fremont Outdoor Movies, sponsored by Talenti Gelato. Come early (gates open at 7p) to secure the best site for your blankets and chairs.
This weekend – Saturday, July 19th at 2p and 7:30p, and Sunday, July 20th at 2p – Doktor Kaboom will put on a live wire show of fun for adults and kids alike, at West of Lenin.
This Sunday, July 20th, from 2p – 4p, enjoy a free concert as the 10th Season of the Music In The Sculpture Garden series continues at History House. Listen to some of the Puget Sound’s best acoustic musicians, this week attendees can get to hear the music singer-songwriter Percy Hilo and the Appalachian-inspired songs of Murphy & Middaugh.
On Sunday, July 20th, the Fremont Neighborhood Council and our new neighbors at Patrick Place Apartments will host a community clean-up and celebration from 1p – 6p.
On Saturday, July 19th, from 11a – 2p, the Hallows Church will host one of its annual ‘Party In The Park’ gatherings where everyone from our community can celebrate the season, and one another.
On Wednesday, July 16th, the Second Annual Northwest String Summit will kick-off at Nectar with three exciting bands performing, and a ticket giveaway to the three-day festival. On Thursday, July 17th, the musical culture of Brazil (and South America) comes to Fremont with live music by acclaimed world-wide musical performers.
On Saturday, August 2nd, starting at 3p, please join in a short neighborhood stroll and a long look at Fremont history, with this summertime installment of the Fremont Fireside Chat series. Join this free, one-hour tour – sponsored by HomeStreet Bank – that starts at History House, hikes to the Fremont Troll, and toddles along to Fremont Baptist Church.
On Saturday, July 12th, the Fremont Outdoor Movies season starts with a free screening of ‘The Royal Tannenbaums’, the first in a three-week series of films by auteur director Wes Anderson. On Sunday, July 13th, from 2p – 4p, after strolling the Fremont Sunday Market, take a break from the heat in the shaded courtyard of History House to enjoy a Music In the Sculpture Garden acoustic concert featuring Kevin Jones & Doyle Wood, and Billy Glover.
