On January 12th, from 6p – 8p, dance instructor and author Gabriela Condrea returns to Fremont for another of her popular Tango Speed DatingTM gatherings at The Barrel Thief.
Kirby has been in Fremont for a lifetime, as a resident, employee, employer, and playmate. She's served on the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, the Fremont Neighborhood Council and the Fremont Arts Council, and can be seen wandering the Center of the Universe year 'round. When it comes to Fremont, she likes to say she's full of it!

This Friday, December 20th, at 6p and 9p, Brown Paper Tickets will host two special, free workshops on the music business, with Martin Atkins. The author of ‘Welcome To The Music Business*’ will be discussing issues he’s encountered in his three decades of music experience, and this D.I.Y. book on entering the music industry.

During the holidays, the Fremont Branch of Key Bank is collecting donations of specific housewares for the new residents of the Catholic Community Services low-income Patrick Place Apartments.
On Dec 3rd, the Grand Master of the State of Washington Free and Accepted Masons presented Fremont’s Doric Lodge #92 with a high honor. Our Masons were selected for ‘The Lodge Achievement in Outstanding Performance Award’ for the year 2012 – 2013.

On Sunday, December 15th, starting at 6:30p, local author and dance instructor Gabriela Condrea will present her new book, ‘When 1+1=1: That ‘Impossible’ Connection’. Join a cozy evening of literature, whiskey and tango at The Barrel Thief, starting with this interactive presentation, and leading into a milonga – a social tango dance, free for watchers and only $5 for participants.
On Thursday, December 12th, at 7p, at Comcast Channel 21, Penny Legate will share Fremont, and our Sunday Market, with the rest of the city on the Seattle Channel’s magazine show ‘Citystream’.
